David Mead is one of those overlooked treasures for whom every music fan carries a torch. I heard ‘Comfort’ on the radio at work one evening, and… I dunno, I just felt this LOVE for everything about the song. The man has the voice of an angel and the pen of a poet. It comes from the album Mine and Yours (his second) which is full of beautiful songs – I particularly love “Last Train Home”.
His other (8?) albums are all worth investigation; my favourites being the slightly gentler Indiana (2004) and the eccentric “Dudes” (2011).
